Developing an integrated social, economic, environmental, and technical analysis model for sustainable development using hybrid multi-criteria decision making methods

Selecting an appropriate location for a large infrastructure project poses difficult situations. It shall satisfy sustainability indicators and establish harmony among multiple goals of stakeholders. In such situation, Multi-Criteria Decision Making techniques allow assessing qualitative quantitative attributes, analysing removing subjective biases help in arriving at objective decisions. However, single technique may not be effective tool to generate concrete results as there is no validation the results. By utilising hybrid methods, one can incorporate, gauge, assess range social, economic, environmental impacts precisely achieve accurate result by validating other methods. Therefore, this paper develops model called Social, Economic, Environmental Technical Assessment model. combines four fuzzy viz. Fuzzy Stepwise Weighted Ratio Analysis, Multi-Objective Optimization Aggregated Sum Product Technique Order Preference Similarity Ideal Solution. This utilises case hydropower plants India, how policy decision-makers arrive selection best project. According assessment value, Teesta Low Dam IV (Darjeeling, West Bengal) preferred plant all selected The State could bring social justice, ecological stability; economic benefits appropriating proposed development fields.
